Version 4.17.1 now in the Google Play Store

Version 4.17.1 now in the Google Play Store
  • Anyone have any clue what additions are in this version or any version released by Garmin? With all the epic fails Garmin has had over the past 6+ months with updates, I'm still running 4.15 and have willingness to let it automatically update. It would be appropriate of Garmin (and all other developers, most of which do this) to publish release notes of what has been changed. But Garmin is clueless on this.

Garmin's approach continues to be: Keep our users in the dark, make multiple releases each month that break things, and tell everyone nothing. Yeah, that will keep our customers happy and coming back to buy more products in the future. Absurd !
  • Updated yesterday , today NO sleep at all. My wife is on the previous version, sleep ok. Both use Vivoactive 3 , and yes it set as my daily tracker. When i try to go to my settings the app crash .
  • And every update the app "forgets" the smart notification settings. Common Garmin... hire some good developers.

How strange that yours forgets the smart notification settings where as mine doesn't and keeps the smart settings on every update, I can only think it is the way your phone processes the update.

    Nope…
mine still working as set a few months ago (Samsung S8 (Android 9) / VivoActive HR)
  • But what has been changed ?? Big question mark !!
  • For one thing they've completely broken calendar sync. Since making it 'automatic' nothing ever gets changed on the watch, and my calendar is frozen at the pre-update state no matter what I do. Terrific work Garmin.
  • For more than half a year this "wonderful" application has not been able to synchronize the activity with the Edge without any problems. While at the beginning, on average every second activity required a restart of the Edge, because the automatic synchronization did not work, now EVERY TIME you need to restart to synchronize the activity.
Half a year of writing about it on the forum, and all they did was screw up this feature even more.

"Dear" Garmin, figuratively and literally. It's great to see advertisements for your new devices every step of the way, but do you really think that people are such idiots to buy equipment that has a TRAGIC SUPPORT from you? Or if I buy myself a Fenix, do I have to figure out how to restart it?
    Get over it at last.
This is probably my first and last garmin equipment.

    I'm getting the same issue

UPDATE: Seems to work for me if I go onto the Connect website and then click on "Send workouts to device" from the calendar screen. It will try to connect to Garmin Express but if that doesn't work, will add the workouts to the sync queue. Then will sync next time app and watch are synced.

What has been lost is the ability to sync calendar using a button in the app, rather than a button on the website
  • They are not selling cheap devices, Sending Workouts was not working from the mobile app for Fenix 3 HR. now they have fixed the "Send Workout" issue but they have broken the calendar synchronization (which was not perfect) I hope that there be a way to report the bugs and to have official announcements that they working on it or ignoring the people
