I've been using Vivoactive HR for more than 2 years now but for the love of god, I can't bring myself to comprehend the calorie counting in Garmin Connect App. I hope someone can actually explain it to me why it is being counted that way...
So, I connect Garmin Connect to MFP. Setting up and everything, it says my calorie goal is 1500. That get transferred to Connect. Now, Garmin calculate my calorie this way.
Goal + Active (steps + exercise) = Adjusted Goal
1500 + 2264 = 3764 cal.
Adjusted Goal - Consumption = Remaining Budget
3725 - 1391 = 2373.
Why? Why my walking steps is being counted as active calories??? Shouldn't that be my RMR???? Because of this, I can't use the dashboard as my weight management tool.
This seems to be counted correctly in the web dashboard.
Consumption - Active = Remaining Budget
1391 - 2264 = -873 (meaning, I'm 873 calorie deficit)
