Elevation correction PC vs Mobile

Hi,
enabling elevation correction in Garmin Connect on PC you immediately see your activity remapped with correct elevation values.
Why same activity later on the Android apps always shows with uncorrected elevation?
Other activity changes like names shows correctly on both platforms. Is elevation correction "redone" any time on the PC displaying the activity and not saved on Garmin cloud/
Come on...
  • The barometric altimeter on these devices is notoriously inaccurate. This has been discussed in depth on the forum. You can find many discussions on the topic as you look around this forum.

I routinely enable Elevation Correction when online in Garmin Connect. Once that is done for an activity, I have found it is 'sticky', meaning it stays enabled. The corrected elevation is then also shown in the Garmin Connect Mobile Android App. I just checked a number of saved activities and it is working fine for me. All activities that have Elevation Correction enabled online still show the corrected elevation total and profile on the phone app.

Check your activities online to ensure Elevation Correction is enabled. That's always worked for me at least.

mind you leading me to that button in online Garmin Connect for this elevation correction? I was looking for that button earlier as well but give up maybe just too fast (as per now as well I have no new activity to load but was browsing through all menus with no luck).

I hoped it should work alike but in Android I still see original activity with "natural uncorrected elevation".
Maybe reinstalling Connect on Android could help.

bigHUN, when viewing an activity in Garmin Connect online, look in the right column, for my screen to the right of the course plot and elevation graph. You'll see a depiction of the device that was used to capture the GPS track. Below that it will give the name of the device then below that it's software version. Below that is "Elev Correction Disabled". To the right of the word "Disabled" will be a pulldown arrow, click that and select "Enabled".

This is done individually for each activity. It is not a global change for all activities. You will need to change it for each activity you want to get corrected elevation for.
  • I am not sure what the outcome would be a so big difference between corrected - or - not corrected, I don't make a living with this and usually not a life saving importance for me what a graph is showing once I already ride the route, but always open to learn about these toys.
