GCM not recognising that Livetrack has ended

Still having problems when I end an activity with GCM not recognising that Livetrack has ended, although it recognises that the activity has ended (Edge 1030 with FW 7.20, GCM 4.16 on a Pixel 2 running Android 9). I press the button on the 1030 to end the activity, tap Save, the 1030 tells me that that Livetrack has ended, and then that the activity has been uploaded. When I look at the phone, Connect is showing two conflicting notification tray icons, one saying "Livetrack in progress", the other saying "Your activity is ready to view". I tap on the one and it takes me to the Livetrack screen, which says "Livetrack in progress", with the red button at the bottom of the screen to Stop Livetrack. I tap on the other and it takes me to the screen where I can view the completed and uploaded activity.

This problem has been happening on and off for months now through multiple versions of the 1030 FW and multiple versions of GCM. I've reset the 1030; uninstalled and reinstalled GCM; deleted and recreated the BT connection between phone and 1030. None of these actions have made any difference to the problem.
  • I get an intermittent issue where sometimes Livetrack thinks it hasn't finished and I have to finish it manually. It's probably happening 1 in 4 times with GCM 4.16 OnePlus 6, Android 9, Edge 25.
