Strength training

Hi
How to properly set strength training seasess?
I set my training like on the screen below.
I have warm-up, next bench press x4. But after first round of bench press I can't edit how many reps I made and which weight I used.
????
Do you know how to set it properly? ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1455065.jpg
  • Garmin broke strength training back in early January it seems, and I'm still trying to get a response out of them about it. Old workouts that I had saved on my 645 still work correctly as they always did, but any that have been newly created or modified since that date simply do not work in multiple ways:

    1. They no longer show an option to edit reps or weight at the end of a set
    2. They no longer auto-count reps if you have that enabled
    3. They no longer show you the upcoming set details during rest phases
    4. They now upload a completely blank workout with no details whatsoever when you complete the workout.

In other words, they're completely broken and useless but Garmin are still to do anything about it or even give me a decent response other than their engineers are 'investigating it' nearly 2 months ago.

Really not very impressed at all, this is core functionality that they've clearly broken in the website and/or mobile app (since old un-touched workouts on the watch are still fine) and it should not be hard to work out what they've stuffed up and fix it!
  • Just after posting this I stumbled across yet another thread (there are many) about this problem, but in this case it had a solution!

The problem it seems is a simple bug, whereby if you have a warm-up step at the start of your workout it will fail in all the ways that people have reported. Remove that warm-up step and lo and behold it all works as it should! At least it did for the workout I tried it on which I couldn't get to work any other way.

Beggars belief that Garmin could not have identified this bug and the simple workaround and provided some sort of response to the many users on many threads about this issue.

    .

But how could you even have a warm up step in a Strength workout, with the limitations given by Garmin?

I have posted about this before: Garmin requires you to pick some kind of strength exercise from their fixed list for your warm up, recovery, etc. And that makes absolutely no sense. I am not doing strength exercises for warm up. I am doing other stuff, and I assume that most people are. Consequently, I am not even able to include a warm up step. I start with a rest step instead, and do my warm up there.

So how did you get around this? Did you include a fake exercise in your warm up step, or did Garmin's list happen to include an exercise which matched your warm up exercise?

I discovered this dependency, I removed in Connect (the WEB version) the warm-up from the training plans and sent it again to the Watch. I have previously removed old training plans from my Forerunner
