I'm evaluating if buy another Garmin, a 520 plus and I'm comparing with Wahoo bold. When I try to upload a "gpx" file from my phone, using Garmin Connect Mobile, that is not possible. This functionality is available on Garmin Connect Web using but not on the Mobile version. Why the Garmin Connect Mobile doesn't have the same functionality of Web version? Why upload a gpx file using a Garmin Connect mobile is so difficult?
Hello CColonello you actually can use your phone to upload a gpx file to Garmin Connect. However, you have to use the web version on your phone. Not ideal, but it does work without too much difficulty.
Thanks seilogramp , it is a workaround but it is not the same and I have some trouble. In any case, my expectation from Garmin that basic functionalities as import and export gpx file have to be implemented in the app mobile as well. There are products, one is Whaoo, where the mobile app is much more advanced than Garmin app. How long time should we wait for this basic functionalityies? Do you know if this functionality in the development plan of Garmin Mobile team? thanks
CColonello I suggest submitting your request via the request/ideas form. I have no insight as to the development plans of Garmin, other than what is publicly shared with their customers.
You might also like to see that features are removed from the website, therefore equivalence between web an app could be there goal. However I did like those features a lot. Like the reporting. After each year I used the reports to see how many km hours I spend per sport. Especially for rowing it was important to use Garmin as a logbook. Thanks to the inovation of Garmin, I now only can report running cycling and others. This others contain so many different sports that they now made it useless. Why differentiating sports at all in many of their apps, when then they just summarize them in others? For me this is a huge step backwards. And it seems this is a whole process of which my example is only one item. Cheers J
