Sending courses broken

Since the latest update (4.12.3) I can no longer send courses to my 645 Music. It gets to the screen with all of the devices, shows it as connected, but there's nothing I can do on that screen to progress. It happens with both courses created on the phone and the web.

Phone is a Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
  • Actually, no need to plug the device into the USB port. Just send the course via the website, then when the Garmin Express Connectagent dialogue box opens, click Cancel. The course will still then sync via Garmin Connect Mobile.

This is brilliant and worked perfectly for me. I was even able to do it from my mobile using the mobile website. You made my run tomorrow much better. Thanks!

  • While waiting for a fix, I've found there are three methods you can still use to get a course on your device. These all work on an Edge 25 bike computer...
    • download a course from Connect website as a .FIT file and put it in /GARMIN/NEWFILES on your device
    • use 'send to device' in Garmin Connect website, then sync your device with Garmin Connect app your phone
    • use 'send to device' in Garmin Connectwebsite, then sync your device with Garmin Express on your computer

All three work perfectly, so we're not totally buggered while we wait for the fix, but you need web access. As marshallking mentioned above, that could be done using the mobile site so we don't have to lug a laptop :)
  • Cool, Thanks! that also fixes the problem I have sending workouts! I am using Firefox on Linux which results in an error because there is no connectagent plugin, but after syncing via the mobile app, the courses and workouts are there.

Real happy here. Had tried everything from different phones, new account, Garmin support (no response). Nothing worked. Coded my own workout-writer sto transfer them via USB. But this is way easier!

Same issue here. I havd a Fenix 5x+ and a Google Pixel 2XL with Android 9.

so untimely for me to find out this problem now when I'm already overseas in Hanoi with no laptop and had planned routes to run at dawn and have not synced them all to my Fenix 3 yet.

lucky to have read this just now. it works, just had to purposely sync device to see my routes load immediately. thanks!

    Great workaround, thanks!
  • Did the version 4.13.4 solved the problem with sending the course directly from GCM? Anybody knows?
  • This problem seems solved with new version 4.13.4 for Android.

Yep, just updated to 4.13.4 and now this is fixed.
  • YAY can also confirm that the 4.13.4 update has fixed this issue (certainly with my Edge 25, anyway). Good job Garmin :)
