having an issue with Connect app

Hey all, I've seen a few issues with the connect app, but mines seems a bit different.
Have had no real issue with connect app for years (well had some connection issues, but that was with my old phone, not the devices) I have an edge 1000 and a fr620, all was pretty good, but then I got a fr645 and it seems to have taken over the app. When I'm using the 645, not much issue, but then using the 1000, all sorts of issues now, getting live tracking has been a hit and miss and when it comes to upload, it pretty much wont, it will half sync, then just stall/ I have to go to settings, kill the app, re start it, where it then want to connect to the 645, even though its off (or at home and i'm at the trailhead). but once it decides there is no 654 it will connect to the 1000 and upload fast.
But at the moment, due to injury I'm not running, only riding and I have to kill the app every time I ride. Updating the app worked a bit (well it let the livetrack work again), but not much.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong (Sony xperia Z5Compact)
