Huawei bluethooth connection and headphone problems

Hey everyone!

I have a huawei P8 lite and I know there are a lot of problems with them, but I joined to share my workarounds and see if anyone else has found something better.

App can never connect & sync with watch.
  • Try to have the app open. switch off screen. GC will connect and sync in the background. turn on and see result. phone will disconnect after awhile.
  • Update your phone. Huawei does not notify of new updates and emui 4.0.3 really helped for me. I can now connect/sync in app.
App breaks all other bluetooth peripherals
Listening to music through bluetooth headphones is extremely frustrating, the garmin app tries to find devices and sync in the background.
Resulting in stuttering music, breaking your stride, lowering psyche :(

Extreme and quickest
  • Uninstall the app.
  • Restart or turn on ultra power saver
  • Switch on
  • Open music and it should be resolved
Advanced, lower phone use/speed/multitasking ability.
  • Open Developer settings.
  • Change Background process limit to -> At most 1 process
  • Have music open when you turn off screen.

I think the best option for the wireless headphone problem would be to be rooted and simply freeze the garmin connect app.
as the background process workaround makes it harder for fx spotify to download music and adds a periodic stutter, still better though..

anyone else have better luck?
