Notifications- Access required

Every day when I connect my forerunner 235 to mobile app it is said "Access required" on my Huawei P Smart
But all notifications are enabled...

Same here, using Xiaomi Mi 9T with Garmin VivoActive 3. It does seem to sync when i have the app connected, but i dont receive any smartphone notifications on my watch.

I get this too - followed by the text "Android notifications have stopped unexpectedly. In order to restore notifications for your Garmin device, you will need to reboot your phone." I do nothing and things…

SOLVED the issue on my phone (mi 9t).

It was under battery saver options. I had to turn of "use adaptive battery"

Maybe your phone has a similar option, it's worth to check it out.

Same problem with Mi 9t and my vivoactive 3 doesn't receive any notification from any app since moths from now. sometimes phone calls notify on my watch.

Disabling battery optimization for the app on my one plus 5t did the trick

I have the same problem every day. Very annoying and I tried to give connect all the access I can give. I'm on Xiaomi Mi8.

I recently updated my Huawei to EMUI 10.0.0 and had to make sure that my connect app wasn't being managed automatically. Here is how I change it. My phone model is YAL-L21 but I am sure this will work if you have that latest EMUI update.

Phone Settings > Battery > App launch > Connect > Manage Manually.

I did this for all the Garmin apps on my phone too.
