Just rec'd my vivoactive 3 and am trying to log intol Garmin Connect Mobile app on my HTC smartphone. I keep getting the same message after entering my email and password..."a problem occurred while attempting to sign into Garmin Connect". I can sign in on my home PC but not my phone. Anyone have any ideas?
I have the same issue. We called Garmin's support and they told us it is a known bug that arose in the last update of Garmin Connect in early Aug. The way I understood the issue is that it affects older Android versions. My phone is on Android 4.4.2 and had this problem. We tried installing it on my wife's Android 6.0.1 phone and it worked fine.
The Garmin tech said they are working to resolve it. It's a bummer b/c I really liked the VivosmartHR, but most of the features are worthless if I can't connect to the app.
The Fitbit app installs fine so I might have to get the Charge 2 instead unless they fix it soon.
I had a similar issue. Sign in page with no field to enter data. I granted permissions to Garmin app manually, restarted the app and all works well. Hope it helps.
