LiveTrack, & GroupTrack Issues

My wife and I have been having problems with LiveTrack "blue screen" when viewing map linked through email request, viewing each other with group track is non-functional on both edge 1000's and having to manually stop live track within GCM Android. We get email notifications from each other when live track starts, but map is blue screen “off the coast of Africa”.
We both have Edge 1000’s and Samsung 7s with all updates. We have checked settings on all devises and started LiveTrack as per Garmin’s instructions. Have tried factory resting both Edge 1000's and removing and reinstalling GCM, all with no change in conditions.
Has been going on for a couple of weeks.
  • Just updated to 4.10 from Play store. Fully functional. No issues with LiveTrack or GroupTrack.
  • Hi all, being new to all this, does this mean I have to delete the Garmin app of my phone and reinstall it, also if I do that, is there a good time to do it or do I simply have to make sure I have uploaded all my garmin watch info to the app before I delete the app. Also I have create a circuit tracker on my Garmin Vovoactive 3, which records some of the circuit stats okay, but when I created the circuit tracker I think I copied the run tracker version into it, should I have done this differently, sorry for the lack of proper jargon but I am still learning. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Update Garmin connect mobile to 4.10 through play store is all you should have to do.
  • Thank you, How do I tell what version I am downloading, I did download the app again today but there was only one version I could see.

Open "read more" in the app description. Scroll to the bottom and you will see the version number. There will only be one version on the play store.
  • Great news, I'm going to update and try tonight. I was aledgedly added to the Parent ticket for this issue and was supposed to have been sent an email notification when it was fixed. I never received any such notification. Sigh... Thanks for nothing Garmin. (Again).

Hi I did download the app again on Wednesday but it hasn't fixed the face book tracking issue, thanks for the info about the version number its very helpful. Just looked on my app diagnostics in the Garmin app it states 4.1 , not certain if this is the same thing. I will delete the app and reload it tomorrow morning to see what version I am uploading. Just out of interest I note a few say clear the cache first is this the cache in the app if so where is it, or in the phone.

Hi Marc, just being nosey did you update last night and did it sort the problem?
  • I have deleted then reinstalled the Garmin app but the version on my phone definitely states 4 I checked this prior to me downloading it, as advised by Wayham. My phone is almost two years old could it be that my phone is restricting the version I can download. That said that wouldn't explain why it was working up to a few weeks ago. .
  • Just spoke to Garmin and the very helpful person I spoke to wasn't aware of the problem but he checked with the technical department and then read out a statement to me. Basically what I believe he said to me was Facebook Live track had been removed at the moment due to changes because of the recent privacy changes face book have made and are making. There was no indication when this might be available again by the same rule there was no indication that it wouldn't be. I did ask if this could be made known to all Garmin users and the gent did say he would see what could be done. I have tried the Twitter facility but it doesn't seem to be as good as the face book one, not tried the email tracker yet as I cant get my head round how much data this may use.
