Audio Streaming Issues

vivoactive 3 - although this shouldn't be a watch issue

I've been a part of the Garmin family for about a week and everything is working great except, Garmin Connect appears to be breaking my Bluetooth audio streaming.

Regardless of what I am using (Spotify, YouTube, Podcast Addict) and what I'm streaming to (Headphones, Speaker or Car Stereo) the audio will intermittently, but consistently, glitch or skip. The track will continue to play, but the issue is frequent enough that it will happen multiple times during an average length music track. It started when I installed the Garmin Connect app on my phone.

Uninstall the Connect app and the audio issue goes away. Reinstalling the Connect app and the audio issue returns without fail. I've even uninstalled it while actively streaming music and the issue immediately goes away and the audio continues error free.

It's not experience breaking yet, but it has become an annoying "un-ignorable" issue.

Edit: No issues using Headphone jack with Garmin Connect installed. Audio problems only appear via Bluetooth streaming

Also having the same issue with a Nokia 7 plus. On android 8.1 . Audio glitches every few minutes. Problem goes away by uninstalling the connect app .

  • Have you tried disabling bluetooth on your Garmin device to isolate the issue?

Does clearing the Bluetooth app data help?
    • Turn Bluetooth off
    • From (Manage) Apps, select “Bluetooth Share”
    • Tap “Force stop” then “OK”
    • Tap “Clear data” then “OK”
    • Power cycle the phone

Thanks. A slight variation on those steps appears to be working for me. I had actually deleted the connect app again (as problem goes away immediately when deleted) and then saw your post. So I cleared the bluetooth app data, restarted phone and *then* reinstalled connect. So far I've only reconnected my Vivomove HR but no audio issues. However I've still to connect my Vivoactive HR. Will try that over the weekend.

Theres a lengthly discussion on the nokia forums about the problem: https://community.phones.nokia.com/s.../3?url_locale=
