Sync problems with replacement phone

I just got a replacement phone and the app won't sync to my Edge 1000. It will pair on Bluetooth and upload my rides to my computer, but not the app. My previous Pixel paired just fine. Can anybody help?

A number of us are experiencing the same issue, i would report it as the more people raise the issue it will hopefully get fixed

I personally think it's a problem with the Edge 1000 on version 14.7 that doesn't sync with the Android App as my other Garmin 510 syncs perfectly after every ride.
