LiveTrack: Cannot send invites at this time. Try again later.

When I tried to start Livetrack this morning, I got this error. Tried to start it several times over the course of a four hour ride, with the same error each time. I had a good 4G data connection on each occasion I tried, and when I ended the ride GCM uploaded it immediately without any problem, so obviously no problem with connection between phone and GPS or to the Internet. Livetrack worked fine the last time I used it a couple of weeks ago. GPS is an Edge 1030 with FW 4.0 and phone is a Pixel 2 with latest Android and GCM 4.6.4, and I'm just trying to send the invite to an email recipient.

Can somebody help me with this problem. Cannot send invites for Livetrack function on Garmin 1030. Recently re-installed the GC app (v4.8.0.16) and reconnected the Garmin with my phone. Also updated my Garmin 1030 software (v5.0) Should I adjust some setting in my Iphone7?
  • Livetrack auto-start was working about 50% of the time on my brand new 520 Plus. Reinstalled app, now no auto-start functionality at all. It was working fine on the old 520 for years.
  • The same problem on this site
Get an error message here half the time
Can not send invites at this time. Try again later.
Have GCM reinstalled, and then it goes well a few times.

This can not be the intention, Garmin

outdoor : Etrex 35 touch ( software up to date )
    Telefoon : Samsung A5 2017 ( Android 8.0.0 )

    Answer please......
  • Same here, it stopped working for me about a month ago. Everything is up to date. I have reinstalled GCM, it worked once after that then was broken again.

Sometimes I can send the invites in the middle of a ride. Sometimes it's not possible at all. I've tried autostart, manual start, different emails, Facebook. No luck.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S6 running Android 7.0. My watch is a Forerunnner 920XT. It worked perfectly for years before this issue.

Please Garmin, fix this ! This is a crucial feature for those of us who don't have a Strava Premium account and can't rely on Beacon as a workaround!

My partner is much more anxious when she can't see where I am during my long weekend solo rides. This is a vital security feature !!
  • I'm having the same problem with my Edge 810. When I did a Google search for; "LiveTrack cannot send invites at this time. try again later.", I got 171,000 hits. It appears this issue is quite widespread. Updating the permissions seems to have fixed it. I'll see for sure when I ride later today.
  • Same issue on my 520. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. It worked once after that then same issue "Cannot send invites at this time". Live track worked flawlessly for a year for me, but for the last few months it mostly doesn't work and now it doesn't work at all. I have grown to count on this for my wife to track me. I expect the emergency incident detection can't send out mail either.

When are you going to fix this Garmin? [h=2][/h]

One more (still / again) unhappy guy. I have been using Live Track with my Edge 510 for over 4 years. It will work fine for months, then behave as others have described. My usual fix has been to clear cache, or reinstall. I recently updated from an old Samsung S4 to a Moto X4. I had hoped that would help - but I got the "Cannot send invites.." again today. Does anyone know specifically what app permissions are needed, or if must allow modify system settings? (Connect 4.9.4, Android 8.1.0). When I've got my helmet, gloves, etc on, and waiting to start a ride, the last thing I want to be doing is messing with an app on my phone
  • Updating permissions got it to work for one ride. Next ride, the issue returned. I guess I will try uninstall/reinstall. LiveTrack has always been hit or miss for me. Now it's way more miss than hit...
  • I could not get it to work on my wife's Garmin Forerunner 35 and Note 5. I have uninstall and install. This is FRUSTRATING! Garmin programmers are bad!
  • When is this going to be fixed. It is infuriating!
