Garmin Connect / Huawei P10 / Emui 8

Hi all,
First, I am so sorry for my bad English.
There was an android update on my Huawei P10.
EMUI 8.0
Since this update, I have a lot connection problem between my watch and my smartphone.
Until this update, it was a great pleasure because everything was be OK.
Do you know if Garmin will be update garmin connect for the last Huawei EMUI 8.0?

Thanks a lot
Have a good evening
Max
  • Welcome to the club!
I guess emui 8 is based on android 8, you do not say what watch you have, but if you read a bit the forum you will see that there is a failure with the bluetooth and Oreo 8.
Now we have to wait for Garmin to update the app, we have been "disconnected" for some time between phones and watches
  • Thank you for your answer
My watch is a forerunner 645 music.
    Waiting for an update ASAP

  • I have the same problem. I've just updated my Huawei P10 firmware to Android 8.0/EMUI 8.0 and the Bluetooth connection with my Fenix 3 HR has become very difficult (loosing connection etc.).
I've tried many things: delete cache memory of the app, re-pairing with the Fenix, disabling the auto energy management of Garmin Connect Mobile etc. without success.
  • The problem is, that Huawei has a very, very strict energy saving function.
This kills all background activity, including GC Mobile. That´s why notifications stop working, but start again, opening GCM.

Huawei really pissed off the VLC media player guys. They got tons of bad reviews, because the player stopped working in the background. Which is a mandatory feature for listening to music with the display turned off.
So VLC removed most Huawei devices from their compatible list and started a fight ;)
Huawei now announced to implement something to make it work again. For VLC, but I´ve not heard anything about different apps.

This stops me from buying a Mate10.
  • I have P9Lite and like all Huawei owners have BLE issue. I tried many solutions but nothing worked, so now I'm looking for a new smartphone. Obviously not Huawei
