App keeps crashing when clicking device settings

My phone is a OnePlus 5 running Android version 8.1.0 and I have the Garmin Connect App version 4.6.4

On this version every time I click on the "Device Settings" the app crashes stating "Connect has stopped"

  • Same here, only with a Fenix, for 2 other devices this works fine. Best to report this to Garmin support.

    As Twinaxx suggested, we would encourage you all to reach out to us through one of our Product Support channels (phone, email, or chat) so that we can investigate this.

    I have not been able to replicate it, but we would want to try and collect app diagnostic and sync log information from you phones to see what could be causing this to occur.

    GCM Android 4.6.4
    Edge 510 - FW 6.1.0
    Crashes on touching "Device Settings"

    this previously worked fine (definitely OK on GCM 4.6.1, not sure about intervening updates to GCM between 4.6.1 and 4.6.4)

    I've sent info to Product Support as suggested above

    Doesn't look like a one-off issue, more like something broken in GCM 4.6.4 (was OK with GCM 4.6.1)

    Hi,

    I can confirm the Issue (using an Oregon 700) and reported it as well to the support. The crash does only occur in 4.6.4. The previous version workes fine.

  • Same issue, Edge 510, using Samsung S7, GCM 4.6.4. Can't turn off weather alerts and automatic upload. Reported to support.
  • @felkerino : Not a real solution and not for the weather alerts, but if you are in Europe (not sure if this option is available globally) you can turn off uploading completely (for all devices) by revoking your consent in Settings - Profile & Privacy - Data - Data Upload. You can later give consent again to enable uploading.
  • Same problem here. I've emailed Garmin Europe support, and it seems the problem has not been known before, and they do not have a solution.
    I cannot enter device settings for the past few weeks.
    It takes ages for Garmin to try to solve it and send solutions that eventually do not help.
    Last information that I got is that they need to send it to their tech dept ... I thought I've been emailing the tech support ... I am so disappointed.
