Maps not displaying on Huawei

Since the latest phone update on my Huawei P8 Lite, no maps display in GCM for my activities and courses. I just see the message 'Google Play Services are updating'. Is there a solition?

I have a same problem on my Honor 9. But also in the app sportstracker ...

Looks like this is an issue with Google Play services. People are reporting the same issue on different phones and different apps.

Go to Settings --> Apps --> Google Play Services --> Clear all data and cache --> problem solved.

It works, but when the phone is restarted the problem is back. You have to clear the cache and data every time you switch on the phone.

It's true , but the problem is in google play and we must to wait to updates :-(

Looks like the Huawei/Honor Google Play problems are getting some wider coverage lately. Here's me hoping that will improve the situation by forcing the hand of whatever parties are involved.

I also had the issue with my Huawei P20. Solved it by installing the latest apk for google play services from apkmirror.com.
