Recent run only listed under "all activities" and not "running"

I recently had my Fenix 5x replaced under warranty. After my first run with the new 5x, the resulting activity synced with Garmin Connect 4.4.2 via Bluetooth on my Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. Despite the fact that the activity is categorized properly, it isn't listed under Activities / Running as expected. Instead, it only appears under Activities / All Activities. Furthermore, the distance for today's run doesn't show up on my Running Activities graph on the Android App. Nor is the distance added to the "last seven days" running total on the "My Day" page.

Interestingly, on the Garmin Connect website, the distance DOES appear on the distance report for running activities. Furthermore, the run properly appears under the Running category when viewing my account on the Windows 10 Garmin Connect Mobile app.

I've done a little research on this topic tonight, and it seems that there is anecdotal evidence that it has happened to others, over several iterations of the app. Unfortunately, I didn't come across and confirmed solution. Most suggestions were the stock suggestions for everything: uninstall/reinstall, unpair/re-pair, etc.

Does anyone know how this can be solved?
