Garmin Connect 4.4 ChangeLog?

I just got the update through the play store. There's nothing in the "what's new" section in the store, and I can't find any changelog anywhere else. What improved? What changed? Anybody has a link to some kind of release notes?
  • I have no answer, and would really like to know the changes as well. Haven't updated yet, don't want to risk breaking a working setup.

No idea about the ChangeLog, but I am using 4.4.1 and it is working fine.

Do you have all notifications on your watch with the 4.4.1 GC version ? Mail, SMS, calls ? Do you have a stable BT connexion between phone and watch ? What is the reference of your watch ? With my FR235 I revert to the 4.1.11 GC version because all the next versions don't have a stable BT connexion.
  • Are 'sticky' or permanent notifications working with 4.4.1?

Okay, first I am using a refurbished unit that I just received as a replacement for my original Vivoactive HR on which the screen failed. So the Vivoactive HR probably has the latest firmware, and possibly hardware updates. Garmin say they change all the outer parts of the Vivoactive HR when they refurbish, and much of the innards. I haven't checked all the software versions.

I only just got Vivoactive HR back yesterday, and I haven't been wearing it much as it needed a charge, then I forgot to put it back on. I'm out of the habit after not having it for a week or so!

While I was wearing it I was receiving lots of notifications for Facebook, email, News, and I think Messenger. I hadn't received any SMS so can't comment on that. I just tested a call and yes, the Vivoactive HR showed a notification.

The Weather widget is also working. I haven't installed any additional watch faces or widgets, which may be why all notifications are working. I probably won't install extra software based on issues in the past.

The BT connection has been rock solid. I think I saw one disconnection from the phone last night because I moved away from the where the phone was sitting. I didn't take much notice of the notification while watching TV.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'sticky' or permanent notifications. But as far as I can tell right now, all notifications turned on in Garmin Connect Mobile are being presented on the Vivoactive HR.

I'm also not sure what you mean by the reference of the watch. Do you mean the serial number? I suspect that would be for the original watch that got refurbished, so it probably wouldn't indicate how recently it was manufactured.

Minor update. I did lose the Bluetooth connection between the Vivoavtive HR and my Sony Android phone around midnight last night, based on the heart rate updates visible this morning. That has always happened on rare occasions and is always fixed with a reboot of the phone. It appears to be a phone issue entirely though, because if I turn off Bluetooth then turn it back on to fix the issue, Android keeps turning Bluetooth back off.

This morning when I discovered the disconnection and opened Garmin Connect it informed me Bluetooth was off and gave me a button to try to turn Bluetooth back on. It didn't work, in the same way that trying through Android Settings didn't work. So, a phone/Android issue, not a Garmin Connect issue.
  • I updated to 4.4.2 in the mean time, and it works exactly as the last version, still no permanent notifications from Timesheet or any other apps that use them. I suppose this is not something that will get fixed. Not keen on going back to 4.1.x - so it'll be building something myself that makes calendar entries out of those permanent notifications.
