Notifications not working after some time on Android 8.0

Hello,

I recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S8 to Android 8.0. At the beginning everything seem to work correctly, but after some time (a few hours) notifications stopped working. I restarted the Garmin app but still no messages on watch. Finally I killed all Garmin processes and after restarting Garmin app all was fine again. But this only last a few hours again and the same problem arised. But event when notifications are not working the watch shows that it is connected via Bluetooth and also syncing in Garmin app works fine. So it seems to be an issue with the notification process. Is anybody else facing such issues? Is there any setting I need to change to allow the Garmin process to run in background without limitations?

Hi,

I have similar problems. Since 8.0 update on my forerunner 935. The notifications doesn't work. Never, even when I'm testing the workaround of Talkabout

Try to clear Bluetooth chache and memory...

Strange. I am now on 8.1 (phone shipped with 8) and no issues. However a quick search shows lots of android wear issues with Android 8 and notifications. Sounds to me like they may be connected.
At any rate - google Play Services is involved - I would clear the cache and memory for that as well. Clearing any old or unused bluetooth devices seems like a good plan too.

Since a few days now my notifications seem to work again. I have tried a lot of stuff like configuring background processes and also clearing the caches. One of those might have helped, but I cannot tell which one it was :)

It could be the clearing of cache.
