Heart rate data not recording properly?

Hi guys, I got a Vivosmart 3 a week or so ago. I've been having problems with the HR data collection. I need accurate 24/7 graphs for health reasons. For some reason, the high value is always less than observed values throughout the day, even in the app. Why isn't the high registering properly?

Please see the attached screenshots. Notice the live value is much higher than the recorded high. Values like these were observed multiple times throughout the day. Further, the resting and high on the dashboard don't match the resting and high on the graph. Can someone help me make sense of this. Anyone else observe this?

For clarity, this is all non-activity, at home values. No exercise.

Thanks! ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1309743.png ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1309744.png

I don't know how the "high" value here is calculated. I suspect that the software excludes short peaks of HR, although what criteria it uses to do so, I couldn't guess at. The trace you captured showed a heart rate of 80-ish with a temporary blip of about 120. Perhaps that blip was just not long enough to register.

FWIW, I don't think wrist-worn devices are accurate enough to use for serious medical purposes, and it's difficult to know what the software does with the raw data before presenting it. In my view, if you really need 24/7 HR for medical purposes, you would do better with an electrical monitor of some kind.
