No pop-up to enter the pairing code

I want to connect the Vivoactive 3 via Garmin Connect with the Samsung s7 Edge. The vivoactive 3 shows the number code, but unfortunately there is no pop-up window on the phone where I can enter the code. Instead, the following message appears:"Look for a notification for Bluetooth pairing in the Android messaging center". What do I have to do? I can't find any information about this error message on the Internet. The clock can be connected to another smartphone or tablet without any problems, and a pop-up window for entering code appears there immediately. I've already reset the clock, removed Bluetooth off/on on both devices, deleted Connect Cache, deleted all Bluetooth caches, uninstalled and reinstalled Connect... I would be very happy if you could help me.

Thank you for your quick answer and this good idea. I have uninstalled the current Connect and deleted the app cache. Then I restarted the phone. First I installed an old version (3.3.2). I was told that I have to update to the latest version to connect the Vivoactive 3. So uninstalled again, caches deleted and restarted. Now I have installed version 4.1.9. The Vicoactive 3 displays the code when pairing, but on the S7 Edge the same message appears as always, but unfortunately no pop-up window where I can enter the code. The error must be found in the smartphone, because I can connect the watch to other devices. "Look in the Android messaging center for a notification for the Bluetooth pairing"... maybe someone knows what this "Android messaging center" is supposed to be. Samsung recommends that I delete all Bluetooth caches. But that doesn't help either. And I don't get and find a message on my smartphone anywhere.

    SOLVED!
For all those who do not have a pop-up window to enter the code: I have installed the app "Bluetooth Pair". Then I activated Bluetooth on the phone and started this app. Then I started Garmin Connect, activated Bluetooth on the Vicoactive 3 and selected the V3 in Connect to pair. The V3 displayed the pairing code, and the smartphone displayed a window for entering the code. Even after deactivating Bluetooth on both devices and then reactivating, the devices will still connect immediately. You can uninstall the downloaded app afterwards. Maybe this will also help with other pairing problems?
  • I had a problem pairing vivoactive hr with a samsung j5. It worked ok for about 6 weeks and then wouldn't sync. In the end I got it to pair by doing the following:
    1 - uninstalling garmin connect
2 - turning off the phone
3 - turning on the phone
    4 - re-installing garmin connect
5 - signing in to garmin connect and pairing the phone and watch by following the instructions.
Step 2 - turning off the phone was the key to the solution. The problem is with garmin connect/phone and not the watch.
  • This worked for me with my Forerunner 235 on chromebook. This scenario probably wont happen with anybody, ever, but it shows that if your code isn't popping up, give this a try. Thank you so much Gabriel.
