Oreo Pairing Syncing?

Does anyone have Oreo on their phone with Connect working properly? My Zenfone has an update to Oreo that is ready to go. Before I do so, I'd like to know if anyone else has it and if there are any issues this might create.

I saw one thread on a Huawei with Oreo but Huawei phones have had problems for some time.

I exactly face the same issue as Ricky and Karsten in Nokia 6.1. When I pair for the first time it works well when it gets disconnected it never succeeded connection afterwards. I have to remove the device and pair it again, still the same issue.

    i tried with below options

    Bluetooth on and off
    Phone restart
Granted all permission acces and smart notification as well.

I installed GC in nougat phone and it works fine in that. Even after disconnection it was able to connect automatically. Definitely looks like issue in Android One Oreo. Not sure whether Garmin cam fix this?

Same issue here with Vivoactive 3 and Nokia 6.1 running Oreo. A couple of days it has worked better but on the whole it's not connecting. Hoping for a fix or even a workaround soon .
  • Same problem as describe before, but after upgrading to Oreo 8.1. It seems that after losing connection, my Fenix 5s does not reconnect again. But the reconnecting process is cumbersome: deleting Fenix 5s from devices, restart both devices (watch and mobile) and try to link again.
  • Some of us have bluetooth connection problems with our fenix 5X and Garmin Connect in Oreo 8.1.0 running on BQ Aquaris XPRO phone....https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-the-trail/wrist-worn/fenix-5x/1343354-bluetooth-issues-between-garmin-5x-and-android-oreo-8-1

The May security update to the 6.1 has fixed the connection issues.
  • I've a HTC U11 Life with Android One 8.1 security pack May and it does not work for me. Everything was fine with Android 8.0.
I can pair the Forerunner 935 once and then after some time the connection is lost and the only way to get it back is to completly remove the device from the bluetooh device list.

This is the second time my watch stops working after an Android update.

Same issue for me since the Android One 8.1 update (May security patch) on my HTC U11 Life. I try to send a mail to the Garmin support. No answer until now...

It has always worked in Android 8.0.

Need to delete the BT profile and pair the phone again each time I'm in a out-of-range condition with my Vivoactive 3 watch.
  • On Android One Nokia (7 plus), the May security update also fixed the connection issues. But, the June update broke it again. Can anybody with Nokia confirm?

Whom to blame and where? I always had a feeling this forum is a black hole, nobody from Garmin cares.
