No music player control

Having a similar issue as alot of other people. I can no longer control my music from my Garmin FR35.
Garmin connect has no 'default music player's option anymore. I can open the pause/play and previous/next screen on my 35, but when I try to skip a song or pause it just vibrates and nothing happens. Trying to use Amazon music. Thanks for any help.
  • joerothermich, That's exactly the same issue I'm having with my Vivoactive and Amazon music app. I get vibration feedback like it's going to do something but it actually doesn't. Volume control is all I have.

We are still investigating the issue with the Amazon Music service not responding to the device music controls as expected.
  • joerothermich Some of the other threads mention opening the app (and starting the music). I've found this works with Pandora and YouTube, but still not Amazon Music which is what I normally listen to/control while running. Probably not terribly helpful, but until Garmin is able to resolve the compatibilty with Amazon, you might consider investing in a pair of modestly priced bluetooth headphones/earbuds that support playback control.

Thank you, Joey. I haven't been able to control Amazon Music since getting my fenix 5s last month. It's frustrating, but nice to know you all know of the issue and are working to resolve it.
  • Select the default app is not needed anymore (that was in a change log), it requires to start music on your phone and your device will control it.

Is there any technical thread to follow that would give us an update as to the progress if this fix? Kind if a big deal and seems alot of people are having this issue.
  • tysonty1 I emailed Garmin on Tuesday as a follow-up from my first inquiry in November of last year about the problem with controlling Amazon Music; they said it's being looked at by their engineers and hoping to have a fix by the end of February. Given the number of races I've run since it first became a problem, I got tired of waiting and bought a pair of bluetooth earbuds that have Play/Pause/Fwd functionality. Hope this was helpful.
  • Anyone can forward or reverse track in apple music? I can do it from my bluetooth headset but can't from vivoactive 3 just play/pause work.
  • I basically had the same thing. Ihad a play button and no files on my new 5x. I could see all the music in garmin express on the watch but it would not do anything when I pushed play. Just using an itunes transfer, not Spotify or Deezer. I did end up turning all notifications on and off several times and literraly spent 3 hours messing with it. I sat it down for about an hour anmd came back to it. Voila it was all working. Pretty sure it had to do with notifications or it just took a while to sort through the load process to the watch.
