I'm open for suggestions, but after installing the newly posted 4.2.1 software version, I am not seeing any better notification functionality. My texts are still not showing up.
The only thing I can recommend is to uninstall Garmin Connect, then install the latest stable version in apk file: 4.1.11 Do not forget to disable auto update on your phone, otherwise it will update GCM to the latest version. I keep using this version, works 100%! What Garmin shows in the last two days is really not professional, I wonder what their management is doing? Still on Christmas holiday? :D
I think they've done it! 4.2.2 seems to be working OK on LG G5 running 7.0. Test messages (text, WhatsApp & Gmail) and calls from wife have all appeared immediately. No more grief for not answering urgent phone calls! :cool:
Tested 4.2.2 on a tablet with an Epix: Telegram and K-9 mail notifications appear and do trigger alerts. You can reply to an email message on the watch, it opens the email app on the tablet (when it is unlocked). Careful with that, lock your phone or you may find yourself answering emails from your back pocket. Sticky notifications are still not working. This version is not going on my primary device (need the sticky notifications for time tracker and other apps).
Just thought I would write back to also say that the new 4.2.2 version has at least fixed some of the notification issues. I mainly care about text messages and they seem to be working fine.
