Contradicting step count in activity stats

When I view my total steps on the activity stats section of the app I see:

7d = 48,267
4w = 42,078
12m = 48,267

Why is this?

I also noticed when I go to the connections tab under challenges, it shows my step count as 37,173.

My phone is connected to the internet and has been synced successfully with my vivosport.

Oh OK, so for some reason the 4w is not taking into acct what I have walked today. But the 7d and 12m does. Is this a bug? Still no idea why step count is 37,173 in challenges > connections

So I learnt that 37,173 steps are steps I have done in a week, so the past 7 days of steps must include part of last week as far as the app is concerned.

Don't expect any news from Garmin on this user forum (except of occasional firmware release announcements at individual device models). If the resolving of the bug is important to you, I recommend contacting Garmin support directly, and letting them know about it. It may have not been noticed by them here, at all.
