Connection issue between Galaxy S7 and Edge 820

Is anyone able to help......

I have a Garmin Edge 820 and wish to pair it to my Samsung Galaxy S7.

I follow the instructions on the 820 and scan bluetooth signals on my phone. I then select the 820 and it states that now I need to go to GCM to complete the connection. At this stage I open GCM on my S7 and the 820 shows that is paired with my phone and vice versa. Nothing else happens though and the 820 does complete its connection. The apps dont freeze and I am able to use the app and 820. Its as if the connections times out and simply doesnt send or recieve a signal.

To resolve the issue I have tried to following but nothing works...
Manually search for the 820 in devices within GCM.
Clear caches on phone, and factory reset.
Factory reset 820
Software updates on both phone and 820
Add 820 to GCM account via Garmin express and then connect.
Disconnect all bluetooth pairs with other devices
reinstall GCM on S7

I have tried all of these in all manner of orders too.

Despite my problems I know the 820 works. It flawslessy connects to my wifes phone, which is the same as mine. It also connects to all of my tablets.
I have tried to connect different 820's to my phone and they dont work either.

In addition to this I would just like to clarify that the bluetooth on my phone works and connects to all my other devices flawlessly... car, headphones, mac, tablets.

Does anyone have any ideas about my problem and I could look to solve the issue?

I spoke with a garmin rep via their chat and all they wanted to suggest was to send me another device. I however know it works as I know to connects to other devices and have already tried another 820.

Regards
