Activity History without internet connection

If I remember correctly I was able to view my activity history on my phone without active internet connection. But at the moment (version 4.1.11) if I want to view any kind of history I have to be connected to internet.

Only thing that is showing some kind of information is the My Day tab, with the sum of KM ran and avg. daily steps. Clicking on these filed brings me to a blank page and a red "No interned connection" flag at the bottom. No history for the past year is available whatsoever. Is it some sort of issue on my side or is it intended?

I do remember being able to view my activity history on the go, and I found the feature as very pleasing. The app takes up 155MB of space on the device and it is strange that I'm unable to view even the simplest data. The app is really great, but not being able to view history in offline mode puts me off.
  • This is as the app is designed, the only data viewable while offline are current steps, stairs, HR, RHR and calories; these update in realtime while the watch is connected. All the rest is retrieved via internet from the Connect servers. If memory serves correctly, years ago there used to be an app named Garmin Diary that did store activities locally (after retrieving them from Connect). Maybe the app still exists, or perhaps there are alternatives.
