Will not reconnect

I have 2 phones; one for work and one for personal use. My personal phone has always been a Google Pixel. My work phone was previously a Samsung Galaxy S7. I was able to switch between Watch-Phone connections easily. For example, when I got to work I would connect my watch to my work phone so I could get email, text and calendar notifications. The same was true when I would get off work, I would connect my watch to my personal phone so I was not disturbed by work emails and messages in my off hours.

I just received a new work phone yesterday, a Google Pixel. Both Pixels running Android 8.0. Now I can only get my VA3 to connect to one. The watch has been paired with both phones via the GCM app with no issues.

For example, VA3 is connected to Work phone. I turn off BT on Work phone, turn on BT on Personal phone, open GCM and wait... Nothing. VA3 will not reconnect to Personal phone. I have to go through the process of removing VA3 in GCM, then re-adding it in order for it to connect.

Here's the kicker. Now, if I reverse the process (Personal phone BT off, Work phone BT on, open GCM) then VA3 will not reconnect to Work phone. I have to go through the process of removing VA3 in GCM, then re-adding it in order for it to connect.

I just turned on my old work phone (SGS7) and it was able to reconnect back to it without any issues.

Here are the facts to know:
-All 3 phones are running GCM 4.1.7
-Device Connection Aid is turned on for each phone in GCM
-VA3 is running 2.60
-All phones have a different BT name (Work Cell, Pixel, and Work Phone)
-I have already attempted to install GCM versions 4.1.6, 4.1.5, 4.0.7, and 4.0.6 on the Pixels with no success.
-I have already cleared GCM cache on each phone and re-setup the apps.
-I have already uninstalled and reinstalled GCM on the phones and re-setup the apps.
-I have also tried changing the order in which I toggle BT on the phones (Turn BT on on the other phone before turning it off on the first phone).

This method of switching between phones was working before. I need it to work again as I have no desire to purchase a 2nd watch just for work.

I'm having a similar problem with my FR35.

Have tou ever tryed to just restart the phone to see if the connection is reestablished?

With me it works, when the BT connection is lost and I want to re-connect because the GCM isn't working (doesn't found my FR35), restarting the phone usualy works for me.
  • My FR235 will sometimes loses its connection to my Galaxy S7. The only way I can seem to get it to connect again is by doing a reset network connection on the phone. After I do this I can connect the watch to the phone again. Note - doing this will reset your wifi connections as well so make sure you log back in on your wifi so you don't use mobile data.
  • I tried restarting the phone and resetting the connections. Nothing worked. I ended up sending back the work Pixel and just living with the Galaxy S7, which i detest, but at least I can swap between phones with my watch now.

Make sure that you bought Google Pixel from authorized sellers as recent step by Google to Ban Pixel Phone Resellers is a major step towards improving the supply of its official phone.
