Excessive amount ot bluetooth wakelocks

Ever since I've installed Garmin Connect on my Xperia Z3 Compact and paired a VA3 I'm experiencing a huge battery drainage.
I knew this was not normal since I wore a Pebble Steel for 3 years up until this point and know what is was the usual daily drain. So I had to install BetterBatterStats to figure out what's going on, and saw that it can do 50% deep sleep and 50% awake, and the awake cause is bluetooth. So I've turned on Bluetooth HCI snoop, gathered couple of hours of data, and now I'm looking at it in Wireshark.
What I see is that there is an _excessive_ amount of:

Sent LE Create Connection Cancel
Rcvd Command Complete (LE Create Connection Cancel)
Rcvd LE Meta (LE Connection Complete)
Sent LE Create Connection
Rcvd Command Complete (LE Create Connection)

These are repeating every 30seconds forever. Do Garmin Connect Mobile Android developers read these forums, or do I have to write this to support?
I had to uninstall the app from the phone to stop draining my battery, but now my VA3 is just a paperweight and not a smartwatch...

It's best to contact support. There's no guarantee that any Garmin engineer will see a posting in these forums.

@Dexter... Hi... did you receive any updated information... my phones battery drain is ridiculous...

Allegedly they're still working on it, but to be honest I don't think they will ever fix this, since they don't have a clue what's causing it.

Fortunately there's a workaround (which works for most of the users it seems). Revoke the Location permission from the Connect app. It seems it removes most of the bluetooth wakelocks. Only 1 drawback is that you will only have weather info on your watch (the weather widget) if you start an activity with gps enabled, since the phone app won't be able to retrieve your location from now on.

Thanks for the update... I can live without the weather for a while if the battery gets better... after all, I can always stick my head out of the window!!
