Pairing problems with a VA3 and a Honor 6X

As many other Huawei users, I am not able to pair my Garmin device with my phone. If I use the Garmin Connect App, I don't even get a pairing code displayed on my Vivoactive 3. It does find the device but after a few seconds it will just to the "Pairing failed" screen. If I go to the bluetooth settings app in my phone, I am able to get a pairing code, and, if I type it fast enough, I'm able to pair the device. However, this pairing does not work with the Garmin Connect app.

I have updated the Garmin Connect App, I am running the 2.6 Firmware version on the Vivoactive 3. I have tried all sorts of combinations of turning on and off bluetooth, the phone, the watch, installing and uninstalling the Garmin Connect App, turning off Wifi and still no dice. I'm guessing the issue is somewhere in the App and the interaction with Huwaei phones, as I have seen a lot of other users complain about not being able to pair their phone to their P9, Honor8 and Honor 6x devices. Going through the Google Play store and filtering just for Honor 6x devices and the current version of the app, all the reviews are 1-2 star complaining about the inability to pair to their devices.

I am having the exact same issue with my 735xt!!! I have the Honor 6x and can pair with BT devices outside of the Garmin Connect App but I can't pair within GCM. HELP!?!
  • The solution for me is always toremove updates for Google Play Services.

That will get my Forerunner 235 syncing with my Huawei P10 Lite again. However, then I get sign-in problems with the Play Store, which I eventually can resolve.

But the syncing problem will return at a later date most likely!

I have created a thread for this, that hopefully Garmin will notice.
