Issues pairing garminconnect and ForeRunner 35

Dear Garmin, I ma experiencing huge issues in connecting m device to GC app on Androind phone.
it worked ok till a week ago when it all of a sudden stopped.

I tried everything (restarting watch, phone, both, resetting watch, removing watch from app and re-adding)
Wtih the last step: (remove and re-add) i realized that the watch issues the bloothouth connectivity code but, before you are physically able to type it in, the watch (or the app) experiences a "timeout" and tries to issue a new code. This goes on in a loop till the users throws the watch away and wonders why in the world he bought such "crap" that, for all other purposes was working just fine.

Please advise what to do, as is the watch is utterly useless (also bc I cannot connect it t anything else than the GC app!)

Thanks
Simone

Same issue here. Honor 8, stopped synch on 10th of november. Tried all sorts of resets, but fails when connecting to the forerunner.

    Hi Oishiken,

try this, I posted in another thread :
Here are the steps I followed :
    - in GC, go find your watch in the list of equipments to pair (GPS and internet must be on)
    - Select your watch in the list, but do not click on "pair" yet !
    - on your watch, parameters>bluetooth>pair equipment (or whatever it is in English)
    - disable mobile data and GPS on the phone
    - go back on GC, and "pair" your phone by clicking on the blue button, at the bottom of the screen (might be partially beind the red bar saying you have no internet)
    - the pairing number appears on your watch
    - put it on your phone, and validate
    - QUICKLY re-switch mobile data and GPS on, otherwise, it seems that the registration of the wathh times out, and the whole process stops.

    hope it helps.

The solution for me is always toremove updates for Google Play Services.

That will get my Forerunner 235 syncing with my Huawei P10 Lite again. However, then I get sign-in problems with the Play Store, which I eventually can resolve.

But the syncing problem will return at a later date most likely!

I have created a thread for this, that hopefully Garmin will notice.

    Hi,

first of all, thanks for the replies/suggestions. I tried both but without any luck.

seems i can pair the 35 with the phone fine, but when pairing with gc it stops with a connection timeout, afterwhich the the 35 is no longer paired with the phone.. are there byalternative chance alternative apps that are compatible with garmin devices?

    Hi Oishiken,
I just had to re-pair my phone and my watch, and I followed the steps I mentioned above.
The key step is once the 6 digit code is dialed on the phone (mobile data and location must have been disabled previously), it asks you whether you want to pair your phone. Click "yes", and quickly switch mobile data and location ON, otherwise it will time out.

I do not quite understand this sentence : "seems i can pair the 35 with the phone fine, but when pairing with gc it stops with a connection timeout"
=> is it pairing, or not ? what do you mean by "seems I can pair [...] fine" ?

And I don't think there is any other possibility to pair through bluetooth but through GC.

    Hi Brestofburden,

Thanks for your reply. Just got back from holiday and saw your response now.

what i mean is that i can pair the watch with the phone through the blutooth settings, but not through the app.

my phone doesnt have location, but i have wifi and data.

ps. date/time is also wrong, could that be an issue?

will try your recipe one more time now.

Didnt work, tried the app reconnect garmin but allthough the watch easily gets paired with the phone, it doesnt connect to gc.

tried another phone but that didnt seem to help either. However, two factory resets, clearing of bt and gc cache and then by sudden it managed to connect... i probably spent some eight hours in total. Could have bought a few new watches for that time... or, gone for many runs...

hoping for a third party app for all watches in the future.

    best regards
