Skype Beta - Notifications not working

Hi guys,

I have installed the Skype Beta app from the Play Store and have set GCM up to forward the notifications of this app to the watch. Problem is that when a new message reaches the phone, the watch does not show a notification. The only thing happening is that the notification badge on the watch face shows not read notifications. When I navigate then to the notification widget I can read the message. So why is the watch not vibrating and showing the notification text? Is there a setting I have missed?

Same issue on Android and with full release of Skype, not beta. It has been this way for a while for me since Skype made some big updates to the app, thought it was just me as well but guess there is something more fundamental here.
