No SMS notifications after installing GCM 4.0.5

I updated to the latest GCM app last night on my Note 8, and now I dont even recieve SMS notifications period, let alone hanging on the watch like they did with the previous version (no option to dismiss).

I ended up reverting to v3.22.2 seeing as how resetting both devices and re-pairing did not change anything. All other notifications were working as intended. After reverting I at least get the notifications again despite not being able to clear them.




(Posted this in the Vivoactive 3 forum earlier today and this seems to be a consistent issue among a few users that have commented thus far, so I figured it may extend past just that device.)

    I too see this on my Vivoactive 3 - anyone experience this on any other devices?

    Same. Vivoactive 3 with Samsung S7 Edge (Android 7.0). Also had the dismissing SMS notifications before this GCM update.
  • My FR235 lost it's bluetooth connection with my S7 and will not long pair up again with the phone. Just keep getting the same message repeating "Timed out while connecting to device". Everything was working fine prior to GCM v4
  • Same was with sony Z3 compact MM and VA3. Unpairing and pairing did not help. But after uninstalling the app and installing anew - now sms replay and notification is working...

    I decided to try testing this again, and so I uninstalled GCM version 3.22.2 and cleared the cache on the phone. (I'd previously tried this without clearing the cache and it did not work)

    I clean installed 4.0.5 and now have SMS notifications, as well as "reply" and "dismiss" buttons. the downside? the dismiss button doesnt actually dismiss notifications lol (it just does what swiping right does and the icon stays on the watch)

    so, were back to the same issues as 3.22.2

    I just did the same thing, now I have SMS, but I still have the same issue that DylanJZ is experiencing. I have heard 2 different stories, that it is an issue that was to be resolved with SW 2.60 on the VA3 or an GCM update. Anyone heard which is actually causing the dismissing SMS issue?

    it is a permissions issue within the GCM app and has nothing to do with the watch firmware apparently; this was confirmed by some folks I know that work in fitness support and handled the open case.

    I'm glad they resolved the Dismiss button issue with 4.0.5, but the fact that it doesnt do anything except hide the notification on the watch is pretty much useless IMO.
  • Still can't pair my watch to the phone. I uninstalled and re-installed GCM v4.0.5 but still get the same repeating message when trying to pair the watch in GSM "Timed out while connecting to device".

    4.0.6 is out now, though I'm not sure if it corrected any issues.
  • Just installed 4.0.6, doesn't help me. I still get a timed out message when trying to pair the watch with the phone.
