Not possible to set date display to European format

The date displayed in the app is in US format (mm/dd/yyyy), while in the settings a notification displays that the date is determined by mobile's settings.

My mobile's settings are set to European format (dd/mm/yyyy), but the app still displays the US format.

On my phone the Connect app displays dates in dd/mm/yy format, same as the phone settings. App version 4.0.5 on Android 8.

Strange, maybe it's because of my phone's version (Android 5.1.1, GC 4.0.6).

I was looking to change from US date to UK. I found that it is driven by the input settings withing Android settings. Settings, System, Languages and Input, Languages.
