Yesterday morning before my run, I turned on the "Beta" version of Connect Mobile on my Samsung Galaxy S7 phone. Since that time I've done 4 separate activities (3 treadmill runs and 1 outdoor run) and none of those activities have synced with my MyFitnessPal (MFP) app (which I've been syncing successfully with Garmin Connect for at least 9 months). Even though I turned off the beta version of Garmin Connect last night, even my run this morning doesn't show up in MyFitnessPal. The two apps are still syncing with one another because the steps recorded by my Forerunner 935 are updating to MyFitnessPal... just not the activities. I've tried disconnecting the two apps, then reconnecting, but that didn't work to fix the issue. Any suggestions as to what might be happening here? The only thing I'm aware of that changed is that I turned on the beta version of Connect Mobile for less than 24 hrs. Thanks for any advice/support you can offer!
You didn’t by chance update your watch to the new beta did you? My sync to MFP stopped after I updated my watch. I’m going to go back to the production version later when I get home. Lots of fun setting everything back up :)
Not sure your correct about the sync happening from the website. I have done activities, and it has sync’d up with MFP right after, and I haven’t been anywhere near a computer.
Everything happens via the database underpinning GarminConnect (web) - your activities are funneled there from the mobile app (or GarminExpress or directly for wifi-connected devices).
Both my wife and I are having this issue - our best guess is that is an issue with MyFitnessPal’s most recent update. We can rule out the beta messing things up; I’m running beta but my wife isn’t and we both have the issue.
Same issue ... been using for 2 years .... agree is likely the MFP update ~3 days ago. A number of posts in MFP tech forums are also highlighting same issue (I attach one example that highlights the MFP update as the likely issue ... there are many more...) .... in one example, MFP have responded suggesting the author contact Garmin, in what seems to be a pass the buck response. I created a case with MFP support (no response yet), and I also emailed Garmin support (also no response yet).
Great, this is going to be a pass the buck battle and going to take forever to get fixed.
But yes, an update by MFP could easily have caused this issue. The other option, of course, is that when Garmin did their updates to GC they changed something in the API or the database. I know they recently removed some options on the website.
I also reported the same issue a few days ago. I've uninstalled & reinstalled both apps and removed beta version. Still only recording steps in mfp. No reply from Garmin yet. Will report to mfp as well.
Closing this thread as a duplicate. There is a discussion occurring in this thread. MFP has acknowledged the issue and indicated that they are working towards a resolution.
