Devices won't Connect or don't keep connection

I have a vivosmart 3, a forerunner 350 en a edge 25.,all of thema have problems connecting to my phone or my tablet (Android 7 and 6).

Now and then i suceed in connecting the devices and they van sync. When i try syncing after a day it is not possible.
When i try to reconnect the process is stuck right at the moment you normaliy get a code for pairing.

It is all 3 devices and both phone and tablet. My guess: it is the software.
My phone connects to 2 different Bluetooth headsets, a car with bluetooth and it had a connection with my smartwatch (Pebble). This all goes flawless. Phone is a g5 plus of 2 weeks old, so a very straight forward Android version.

Can someone regonize this problem, or better, has a solution?
  • Yep, my FR235 no longer seems to connect to the phone (S7). Tried re-pairing the watch to the phone again and it just keeps saying "Timed out while connecting to device". Must have been some update on the phone as everything was working fine about 5 days ago.
  • After restart my phone I was able to re-pair the watch to the phone, seems to be working fine now.
  • I did the same. From 15-8 until 16-8 it stayed connected. From 16-8 at around 20 o clock it's not connected any more
  • I see similar with an BQ M5 :(
Was thinking about leaving my Lumia for an Android to have more reliable syncing but seems there would be no improvement - at least where Garmin connect is concerned
  • Same problem here. Moto g5 plus, android 7.0 and Garmin 935, 4.10 firmware. Works after I reboot the phone, but connection drops in 1 hour-1 day.
  • I was hoping some employees of Garmin would check these forums.
It seems to be a problem with specific phones and the Garmin Connect app.

In the last day, my vivoactive started dropping out and now it won't connect completely. An update went through to the watch yesterday and now GCM won't connect (ironic) at all

I have restarted everything more than once, all for nothing, very frustrating
  • In Android 7.0:

Settings -> Battery -> (three dots in top right corner) -> Battery Optimization -> Connect -> "Don't optimize".

This might help a bit, at least my watch stayed connected for a couple of days. But it stopped working again now :(

Upgraded to firmware 5.30: No changes.
  • I have a Garmin Fenix 2 and had it paired with an Iphone, no issues at all. I have got a new phone (Samsung Galaxy S8) and cannot pair it with watch. The phone can see the watch as it searches for it and sees it and then the watch displays a keypass and prompts me to type it into my phone, but the keepass doesnt work. Keep getting an error on the Garmin connect app saying , 'Timed Out while connecting to the device'. I have factory reset the Fenix 2 and also the new phone but the issue remains. I have tried pairing them using the Garmin Connect app and on the phone itself but still the same. Anybody have any ideas?
