Battery drain overnight is amazing

Okay, so I have the app and forerunner 235 for 7 days. In 2 of these 6 nights, my battery on my S7 Edge was drained.

Night to today ( http://imgur.com/a/6DglA ): Charged to ~97% right before going to sleep. no Charging overnight

2 Nights before today ( http://imgur.com/a/0iecK ): Drain while being CHARGED overnight. So it basically even beat the charger in draining the battery.

This never happens over the day, just sometimes in the night kills your smartphone so I can say goodbye to my alarm clock etc. I saw on reddit that some users had the same issue and missed meeting etc, so what can solve this? Uninstall and sync on their PC like they did?
  • For some reason my garmin connect app suddenly started doing the same thing. Google Pixel, Android 7.1.2, Connect version 3.20.3.

Can someone from Garmin please respond about this repeat issue?
  • Same Problem: Just installed gc on my new LG V20: 40% Battery drain in 2 hours 30 doing nothing on the phone except having gc running. GSAM Monitor said gc caused heavy battery drain. I deinstalled gc and battery life is normal again. Same thing happend on my old Moto G4 some days before.

Their support also doesn't care. I'm quite disappointed. Turning Bluetooth off on the smartphone over night worked so far, but it also might be that it returns any day. Meh
  • HTC10 here. Recently started having the same problem. Its all the time though, not just overnight. I used to have great batter life. I checked to see what is eating up my battery, Garmin 44%! Really!?! I use it mostly as an activity tracker and don't open the app that much (less then once a day). Seems something happened that Garmin Connect is keeping the phone "active" somehow.

Just got the response from the support (took them 11 days). Interestingly I wrote to them in English but got a response in my mother tongue.
Anyways, I sent them screenshots etc and got the following back:
"A general problem with the Garmin Connect mobile app is not known to us. If the issue persists you can use Garmin Express"

What an absolutely pathetic answer. I'll stay away from Garmin next time.
