Constant Access Required and Permission Required notifications

Ever since migrating from a Forerunner 920XT to a 935, I have experienced unending notifications from the Garmin Connect mobile app:

Access Required
You have connected a device that supports advanced music controls such as title and artist. Tap to enable advanced music services for this device.

Permission Required
A device is requesting access to your calendar.

I have disabled Smart Notifications and have removed the Music app from my device but these notifications keep coming. Practically as soon as I swipe one away, my phone buzzes and another one takes its place.

Is there any way simply to disable whatever feature continues to generate these notifications? I'm just using my Forerunner for running, not for playing music or receiving notifications from my phone.

Google Pixel running Android 7.1.2.

I have already removed the Calendar widget on my device and confirmed via Garmin Express that it has been removed but it keeps requesting access to my phone's calendar.

Hi,

I have my Fenix 5S+ only a week. I have given all required permissions at start but removed some, just as the earlier posters in this thread did. My Samsung S9 is on Android 8.0.0 and has this issue too. I am very unpleasantly surprised at the age of this thread while seeking for a solution, this is very negative !

Having same issue forerunner 935 on version 11. Google pixel 2, Android version 9. Connect version 4.12.3. please fix.

Removed calendar widget and all permissions. Still did not fix.

Also, please fix gear not updating with mileage.

I have the same issue as well where it keeps asking for location permission. It is annoying.

C'mon Garmin, please address this! I have a 235, Android OS. The constant request for permission is annoying but even more so is that fact that I continue to get notifications without granting it!

Spent $450 on a watch, and now have to put up with this kind of BS? ARgh. So annoying.

Garmin, this is very disappointing. Might go right back to cheaper devices that just do what *I* want them to do.

Have the same problem. Garmin cant fix this for 2 years? Ridiculous. Disabling all notifications and will not be buying another Garmin watch until I see this fixed.

I was coming here hoping to find a solution, but it appears there isn't one. I have a Vivoactive HR and just upgraded to a new Samsung phone. Prior to the Samsung, I had a LG phone and didn't have any issues. With the Samsung, I keep getting the permission request from GC for my phone. I do NOT want missed calls, etc to show up on my watch. I have all the notifications for the phone off on my watch and in GC, but I must still get about a dozen of these darn notification requests! Annoying!!!
