    No problems here.

Is your watch connecting, but not syncing? Or not connecting at all?
Is the circle next to the device on the app green or grey?
If it's connecting but not syncing, have you tried manually syncing?
If so, does it say it was successful or do you get some kind of error?

Have you tried power cycling the watch and/or power cycling the phone?

Well it says that the watch is connected to my iPad and the circle is green but when I select sync I receive a syncing failure notice. I have checked and rechecked everything to the best of my knowledge but to no success.

Interesting. I don't think I can help. Hopefully that bit of info will help someone else give some advice though.

If it was me, I'd try remove the device and go through the pairing process again.

Ok, thank you for your help. I am able to sync with my charging cable and pc connection just no luck at the moment wirelessly with my iPad.
  • Same Problem

Similar issue on Android and via Wi-Fi with my Fenix 5x. Everything says it syncs fine, and certain things do (hear rate, steps, move IQ events,) but activities such as "Running" do not.

Activities record fine on the watch and stay there. I can also get notifications from my phone on the watch, so I know that the connection is fine.

Activities will not sync via Wi-Fi when connected manually (even though it says "transferring.... Complete".)

They will, however, sync if I connect the watch via USB to my computer and use Garmin Express to pull the activities off.

    It's super weird. And annoying.

I think there is a problem with Garmin Express. I can't get my 5s to connect with WiFi. It will only connect with the USB cable. My 5s will automatically sync with Garmin Connect on my laptop after an activity using WiFi.

Same problem here via bluetooth and windows. Shows connected but get sync fail every time. Tried re pairing it a couple times with no luck. syncs fine when plugged in usb and using garmin express. Support was no help when I contacted them.
  • Android users: There is a known issue (Beta team confirmed this to me) with phones running Android 7.0. The latest sensor hub update fixed this (I will just speak for myself and my F5). I had the same issue with my prior 5x. The funny thing about that was the app was sending BT connection problems to the watch via smart notifications (I had GCM set as a smart notification). So to make that clear
The app was sending messages about the bluetooth connection being bad, via bluetooth to the watch.

There was a way to long press the device in question within GCM to update the connection for the 5x but not with the 5 (and i'm going to assume also the 5s). Even then though...still got BT messages to the watch that the Bluetooth was having problems.

As for apple products, try restarting the device, upon turning it back on, check if you can sync. If you can't turn off the watch and turn on, turn off the BT on the apple product and turn on, try to sync. Still not working. Unpair the watch from the app AND the apple product and re-pair. If that does not work (or it won't re-pair), i'd return the watch.

Same issue here but what started out only being an issue via Express is now also on Connect.
Connect syncs steps fine but nothing else. No activities no sleep etc.
Had the same issues with my Fenix at some point and was never fixed.

Too many issues with my 5X so it's going back.... It s a pity that one pays so much for a 'top of the range' device and it really just lets you down around every corner.
