My Day view in app showing over 900 million steps, 800 floors, etc

I recently purchased a vivosmart 3 last week. Everything was working fine until yesterday where my step count suddenly started showing over 900 million on the 'my day' screen in the app. If I select it to view details, the details UI is correct. The step count is also correct on the vivosmart 3.

I've tried restarting the app, re-synching, etc. The only thing I can think of is something is broken with the VO2 max. I did the VO2 test yesterday on the bracelet, and everything has been busted since then. I even tried doing another VO2 test today to see if it would fix it up, and it didn't. Also note that if I try to view the VO2 info in the app, the bottom of the UI simply states 'an error has occurred', so all signs are pointing to VO2 maybe being a problem here.

This appears to be an app or serverside issue, given the bracelet seems to show the right data. If I can't get this fixed I'm probably going to have to return the device :(
  • I see you also have the same issue where your goal shows as your calories......me to and its pi$$ ing me off
  • I had a similar issue with my VA a few months ago. It was only mobile connect that had the calorie problem. My watch and web Connect were fine.

I contacted support who replied that the way to fix it was to delete the pairing in the app and to set the watch up a second time. I couldn't understand why that would work but out of exasperation I tried it and it's been fine since.
  • I'm seeing this with the vivosmart 3, and deleting the pairing and connecting again did not fix it.

The steps pages are OK, the main summary shows the default steps goal in the place labelled active calorie burn, the active calorie burn in the place for "floors climbed" and 1.4 billion steps for the day.

Honestly I'm beginning to worry, having spent money on nice brand new hardware that I have found myself tied to janky abandonware for software support.

UPDATE: Well I don't want to speak too soon, but I may be out of the woods here. I deleted the pairing (which made me set up the device again), after which I still had 1.4 billion steps. I waited for midnight to roll over, after which my steps went to 0 which was good, but my calorie burn stayed at the default steps goal and my floors stayed at my active calorie burn.

I then went to sleep and now I have woken up to find that my calorie burn and floor counts appear to be in the right places. Which is good, I guess, but doesn't have enough rhyme or reason to it that I feel confident the issue is gone or fixed, that it won't crop up again.

Since it looks like a simple error picking data out of somewhere for display, and the other screens weren't affected, I was hoping that meant I didn't have a step record of 1.4 billion - and checking in the connect app confirms that, so no harm done on that score.

Thanks for the replies will try deleting the pairing
  • I found that it happened after a charge/firmware update, and that re-pairing it and checking it the next morning seemed to fix it.

I wonder if other people's issues also happened after a firmware update...
  • My issues also happened after a firmware update to my VA about 2 months ago.
