Frequent unpairing

I've had my Vivoactive HR for about a week now and it unpairs about once a day. I also have to search several times before the devices will see each other, so re-pairing is a hassle. All of my other Bluetooth devices reconnect without issue.
I'm running Android 7.0 and the OS is EMUI (Huawei Honor 8).

Thoughts?
  • Is it un-pairing or just disconnecting? (does it still show as a device in Garmin Connect Mobile?)

How are you pairing? Through the phone settings or only in GCM?
  • Unpairing. The Vivoactive is not listed as an paired device in Bluetooth settings and not recognized in Garmin Connect (there is a plus sign on the home page instead of a picture of the device).

Sometimes it is listed as an available device in Bluetooth settings, but I cannot pair that way. If it try, the device disappears. The only way I can pair is by searching for the Vivoactive in the Garmin Connect app while simultaneously searching for a device in the watch settings. However, it takes about 3 tries and then they recognize each other instantly.
  • FYI I also power cycle both phone and watch after I see they are unpaired in hopes they will go back to as before.
  • Search the forum for Huawei. I believe there are other threads about it.

Same thing happening here with a Samsung S7 Edge. I can't even get it to reconnect and Garmin Connect shows I have no devices.

When I try to pair again, it just keeps timing out.

I've had my vivoactive for 2 months and have nothing but issues! So frustrating.
  • It hasn't unpaired for several days. I'm going to assume the issue is resolved. It does disconnect, which is annoying. I miss my old watch, where I knew if the phone wasn't connected meant it wasn't in range. With this watch, it could be anything. But it still an issue I can tolerate.
  • My foreunner 45 did a random unpair from my phone without telling me. Couldn't work out why key data wasn't  showing up on my phone app. Then realised devices had unpaired. Don't recall doing this. Maybe garmin and samsung working together  by stealth.

I have Samsung A415 and Garmin Vivoactive 4S.

Same issue, if I do loose bluetooth connection the device will get removed from paired (bluetooth devices list) and Connect App requires me to pair them again. Very annoying and almost impossible to use them normally during the day.

Also worth mentioning that the device had a hardware issue which was fixed by guarantee service and that's where the issue came up.

  • Try removing the device from GC, and delete also all instances of the watch you find on the BT screen of you phone. If you use more phones, or also a tablet, make sure you removed the watch from all of them. Then add the watch to Garmin Connect again, following the instructins in GC. Do not pair the watch from the BT screen of the phone!

Tried to pair them with a MiPad 4 Plus Tablet and have the exact same behavior.
