Garmin Connect powers on Gopro Hero5

Hi

I have Garmin Connect that I use together with my Edge 810.

My problem is that Garmin Connect seems to wake my Hero 5 from "hibernation". I have described this on the Gopro support forum and several others have confirmed this behaviour.

When garmin Connect is not installed or forced stopped on the phone the camera will stay powered down but as when Connect is re-enabled or installed the camera will turn on 5 minutes later.

Garmin Connect will also issue the error message:
"Bluetooth troubleshooting
If your android device is having trouble connecting to your Garmin device, follow these steps to restore Bluetooth connection"

Is there any chance that Garmin Connect misunderstands the Gopro as being a Garmin device.
Does the Garmin Connect software use an power on signal for Garmin devices that the GoPro can misunderstand?

Anyone on here that have had this problem?

Br,
Peter

Hi! I just saw this post :-)

Yes! I have this behavior as well. When talking to the gopro support, they are not interested to solve problem. If you follow the that forum, there are a lot of problems with the hero5. So I suspect this is a gopro problem. Maybe a hardware bug, so they will not be able to solve it. They also deny that it exists, and they say that the solution is to turn off the wireless communication in the camera. But why implement wireless function if you can not have it turned on?

Can you give me the links for your posts at the gopro forum?
