Unable to complete Garmin Connect Registration on Samsung Galaxy S6

Hi everyone,

I just bought the Vivoactive HR watch. I installed the Garmin Connect App on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S6), however when I click Create account, I get a blank screen! (I installed the app successfully on my wifes phone). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the App, I restarted my phone... nothing is working. :confused:

Has this happened to anyone? I realy dont know what else to do.

    Same problem

    I have same issue on my motorola droid turbo. More over it used to work before. Once I reinstalled it, I can't start it again. Just blank screen after the sign in or create account option.

    Same Problem

    Good Morning, I have the same problem with the Samsung S4! Reading through all of the forums and I still haven't found an answer. Got GC to work on my tablet, but it noted it will not pair with my new Forerunner 35 (even though the Samsung tablet has Bluetooth!). Frustrating. Would love to hear from others if there is a solution. I uninstalled and reinstalled. No change. Sent email to Garmin hoping for answers.
  • What version of Android is in the S4? It's got to be 4.3 or greater.

    Does the S4 have 4.0 (or greater) Bluetooth Hardware? That's also needed.

    Same issue

    I have the same problem. I have a relatively new android (Sony Xperia F311), running android 6.0. Downloaded, deleted, reinstalled - still the same issue. When I click either sign in or create account it takes me to a blank screen. Only thing I can do is go back to the home page as the top ribbon banner stays and allows me to navigate back to where it says sign in/create account. Very frustrating. I phoned Garmin and they said it was likely a problem on their end. Hopefully this is the case and it is fixed soon.

    I'm on galaxy note 5. Tried reinstalling several times..... watch is useless unless this works,
  • can you go to the Garmin Connect website (connect.garmin.com), create your account there, and then just log into it from your phone?

    Information request.

    We(Garmin Connect Mobile Team) are currently looking into this issue and require more information in order to properly diagnose the problem. Would those of you that are seeing this issue please answer the questions below either in a response to this thread, or as a PM to me?

    • Phone Model / OS version
    • Have you ever been able to sign in or create an account?
    • Does this occur on Wifi, Data, or both?
    • Are you using the default launcher & browser for your phone? if not, what apps are you using?
    • Do you have any of the following app types installed: Screen Overlay, Screen Dimmer, Battery Manager, Data Manager.
    • for 6.0+ OS versions: Have you changed any permissions for the Connect Mobile application? Can you verify that the "internet" permission is granted for Connect Mobile?
    • Are you using a phone locale other than English?
    • Are you inside our outside of the United States?
    • When entering either the create account or sign in page, do you see a progress bar under the back button in the top left appear? If so, how far does it get before stopping or disappearing?

    Cannot create account or sign in

    Same problem, first time using the app

    Google Nexus 5
    Latest update: v6.0.1
    All App permissions set to on (checking "other" shows internet permissions)
    Attempting to connect from inside the US
    WiFi data
    Screen dimmer app disabled
    Progress bar gets to rougly 10% before disappearing
    Nova launcher used normally, but Google now default launcher also has the same issue

    • Does this occur on Wifi, Data, or both? Both
    • Are you using the default launcher & browser for your phone? if not, what apps are you using? Default launcher
    • Do you have any of the following app types installed: Screen Overlay, Screen Dimmer, Battery Manager, Data Manager. Don't think so, AVG/Clean Master/Twilight installed, they are the only ones that often interact with other apps.
    • for 6.0+ OS versions: Have you changed any permissions for the Connect Mobile application? Can you verify that the "internet" permission is granted for Connect Mobile? Yes, send and receive.
    • Are you using a phone locale other than English? No
    • Are you inside our outside of the United States? Outside, Europe
    • When entering either the create account or sign in page, do you see a progress bar under the back button in the top left appear? If so, how far does it get before stopping or disappearing? Progress bar goes about 10% of the way and disappears within 1 second.
  • Can you please try the steps outlined in the following link and let us know if it helps resolve your issue?
