Google Nexus 6 and Edge 1000

Has anyone has any luck, or know a workaround to pair the Edge 1000 and Nexus 6 in the app?

The Nexus 6 seems to meet the spec, pairs in the Android Bluetooth settings but does nothing in the app. I have since noticed that the phone does not appear on Garmin's compatibility list so am not holding out much hope!

If anyone knows a fix I would be eternally grateful....

I don't have experience with Edge devices, but for a Fenix, pairing from the phone's BT settings does not make it work with GCM.
You can try to make the phone "forget" the pairing with the device, then restart the Edge and restart the phone, then go into the GCM app, and start the pairing process from within the app.
