I have turned off all notifications in the Connect app, as I'm not the slightest bit interested in having my phone connected to my Edge 1000 while out riding. I have BT disabled on both the phone and Edge 1000 except when I use the app to transfer a ride once I have completed it. However, the Connect app seems to have services running in the background all the time even when it's not being used - viewing Running Services under Developer Options shows Connect as having three processes and five services active all the time - and I keep getting popups in the notification bar saying that the Connect app needs phone permission to access contacts etc, which I am not going to grant as I neither want nor need that functionality. Kindly fix the app so that it can recognise that these permissions are not needed with all notifications disabled.
Mind you, given that Garmin have had a timezone bug in the app since day one (snapshots showing up one day out) and have been unable to fix it, I'm not holding my breath.
