Music Controls "Waiting for data" - Vivoactive

Music controls always worked fine up until a few days ago. Suddenly the app/widget says "waiting for data". Have since tried rebooting both phone and watch, unpairing/pairing both, changing music app on (Samsung Galaxy) phone but nothing fixed it. All other areas are fine (weather, notifications, bike app, etc). Ideas anyone?
