Smart Notifications delays

Hi

I have a Vivoactive HR (firmware 2.60) paired with a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact (Android 5.1.1) and have enabled Smart Notifications in the Android app.
There always seems to be a delay getting the notification on my VAHR, and it varies a lot, from 1-2 seconds to as much as 8-9 seconds (which is way too much imo when receiving a call....)
Is this kind of delay normal?

Is it espcially bad on the Android-platform? I am asking because on my girlfriend's Forerunner 235 paired with iPhone 5 theres is virtually NO delay ever (less than 1 sec).

Any way to fix this or is it an Android-issue?

I had a Basis Peak before and have an x40 now and they seem exactly the same as far as response time with my nexus 5x. at most they're 1-2 seconds but generally fairly simultaneous. Sounds like it might be an issue with your phone with either the notification listener service being delayed (probably for battery-saving reasons) or the bluetooth lagging (also probably for battery-saving).

Would it be too much of an issue to try to connect to another phone (like your girlfriend's or another friend with a different android) and seeing what the results are? If they're still seriously delayed you might have a faulty device.

I have Microsoft Band and Garmin Forerunner 235. Microsoft Band notification rang at the same time as the phone but 235 has a delay. so it not Bluetooth lagging.
