Vivoavtive and stair climbing accuracy

Does anyone else find that their steps aren't counted right? I just completed 2100 steps and my device recorded only 400. Any suggestions for fixing this?

Poor Stair Climbing Accuracy

Yes, I find the Garmin vivosmart HR only gives me credit for about 1/3 of the staircases I climb. Kinda frustrating.
